Halls Gap Zoo, You’ll be Surprised!
14 November 2014 - The Grampians
The Halls Gap Zoo is a must visit when you are staying in the Grampians National Park.
For a regional zoo, it has lots on offer. Getting up close and personal with the animals is our favourite part. You can purchase animal feed at the zoo and have deer, wallabies, kangaroos and peacocks follow you as you wander around.
The zoo has 160 species of native and exotic mammals, reptiles and birds.
The very chatty cockatoos are extremely cheeky.
Alpaca, water buffalo and the huge American bison – all happily graze at the foothills of the Grampians National Park.
They also have a red panda, he is very special, cheetahs and two amazing giraffes.
We recommend booking in for an encounter with the meerkats – they really are delightful little creatures. And if you’ve never held a reptile such as an alligator, snake or chameleon before, here’s your chance!
The zoo’s a great day out, lots of laughs and you might even learn a thing or two.
The Halls Gap Zoo is less than 10km from Serenity Accommodation Halls Gap, is reasonably priced and well run. There’s something for the whole family.
When was the last time you took your family to the zoo?
